Crime scene investigations for Sweden National Police will be significantly improved with sophisticated biometric and palmprint records delivered by the Motorola Printrak Biometric Identification Solution (BIS). Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) solutions are designed to save time and increase accuracy in the identification, processing and management of individuals by law enforcement agencies. Sweden’s new Biometric system will represent the first country-wide implementation that includes 1000 pixels per inch (ppi) images, a step beyond the rest of the industry with 500 pixels per inch.
In addition to providing more accurate fingerprint and palmprint solutions, the Motorola Printrak BIS technology will incorporate a Civil Identification application that will enable the Swedish National Police to fight crime within and outside of the country’s borders.

The Sweden National Police will be incorporating Motorola’s latest version of the Motorola Printrak BIS; assimilating the latest enhancements for greater accuracy and automation, technology that includes 3D fingerprint visualization, 20 fingers per record (slaps and rolls), best finger selection, grey scale matching, and 1000 ppi images. Motorola is providing a complete and transparent integration of the Motorola Printrak BIS into Sweden’s National Police IT infrastructure.
